Where: Shawn O’Donnell’s (Downtown), Smith Tower, 508 2nd Ave, Seattle

If you care about liberal education, Asia, Yale, or all three, join Austin Shiner ES ’11 to learn the who, what, and why of your alma mater’s collaboration with the National University of Singapore, Asia’s top university, to build an outstanding undergraduate institution and reimagine higher education for the 21st century.

Light refreshments will be provided. Students and parents interested to learn more about the Yale-NUS admissions process and the elements of academic, residential, and extracurricular life that set Yale-NUS apart are encouraged to attend.

About the host: Austin moved to Singapore in September 2011 as one of the first employees of Yale-NUS College. In nearly four years with the Admissions & Financial Aid Office, he saw the College grow from blueprints and strategy plans to a living institution with 500+ four-year students, 100+ dedicated faculty, and 140+ professional staff. Austin shifted into the President’s Office in July to build Yale-NUS’ alumni affairs capacity in advance of the first class’ graduation in 2017.
